My friend and I need some ideas on what to sell that would be worth our while to invest in time, energy and money into during the holiday months. We were thinking along the line of gift items but am open to some good ideas. Do you have any good suggestions? (No wisecracks needed.) We appreciate any helpful advice or suggestions. Thanks!

Toys should be first on your list. Everybody knows that Christmas time is really meant for kids. We grown-ups just need the holiday break but our kids are the ones expecting a gift from no other than Santa Clause. Parents with hectic schedule may find buying toys from your kiosk more convenient than going to big toy stores. It would also be wise if you can display small items that can be ideal for Kris-Kringle, we all know that office employees love to exchange gifts during the holidays also. I hope I am able to help.

Holiday crafts, hand made wreaths for example. You have to have the curb appeal so make it something that catches the eye and needed. If you want a volume business, then you need a large sign for example 2/$10.00. Be sure you obtain a vendors license and be selective in your location as the downtown stores may get upset with you and don't forget you are required to collect taxes and must set that money aside.

Handpainted tree decorations.

Start with plain but different colored balls. Get them at Target or Wal-mart--nice ones. Not plastic. Add painted trees and stars and trees and other symbols. Sell them.

You can, perhaps, increase the price/ornament for personalizing them at customer request right then and there when they're bought.

Add the name of your town/area if you're in a particularly festive place, too, but ONLY if your area is a tourist magnet at the holidays.

I love stuff like this!

Candy sweets for the children, 'goodies' chewing gum for the ladies/mothers, pop corn for the men/husbands. for the whole family you can try selling 'wise crackers'; they keep the family going at holidays.

Home made garlands and wreaths are very much in demand. The personal touch makes them good sellers.
