Just turn down your thermostat by a degree or two. You will be surprised by the saving that can make.

Turning off radiators will just result in cold rooms and perhaps the other compensating. If you dont use rooms, then yes, turn off the radiators and close the doors.

If you have central heating you will, yes. A better way is to lower your thermostat by a couple of degrees the recommended temp is 21 degrees, and turn off when not in the home. Try your washing machine if you have a boiler, lower the temp you wash by as this also cuts down on bill price. If you have a hot water tank (the one in the cupboard with a jacket on or covered in hard foam) try reducing the on time for your water, say a couple of hours twice a day. Failing that try a new gas supplier.

You could fit TRV's(Thermostatic Radiator Valve) on your radiators and when the room reaches the same temperature as the setting on the TRV the radiator will shut down automatically. This in turn will stop the boiler using so much gas. Also turn the thermostat down a bit.

Yes, but not an ideal situation, better to fit individual thermostatic valves on most radiators. You can then regulate the heat where you want it. ie warmer lounge than bedrooms. Good insulation can save money and you can get grants for this.

The amount you will save will be tiny, the result will be cold rooms so I would not bother. If you turn down the room thermostat you will save money though.

not if you have oil or electric heating. If you have gas heating, I suspect you will save money. Do you save petrol when not using your car? Think about it
