Just because a product is legal doesn't mean that the government can't regulate its use in the interests of the public. No law prohibits smoking or possession of tobacco outright; that would be prohibition. But we can and should regulate when and where people can smoke if it poses a danger to public health. For another example, alcohol is a legal product but we regulate who can drink (adults) and when they shouldn't drink (while driving).

Well, I recall the Clinton administration going after the tobacco companies, Microsoft, etc. Hard to say what will happen immediately or in 2 years.

Personally, I would not use the term Nazi...but that's just me.

You mean by banning it in public places? Well I think thats a given dont you agree? Second hand smoke carries the cancer without the nicotine. I smoke but i dont do it around people because i understand its extremely rude, and "nazis"? Grow up dude people like you are the reason 9/11 happened

Anything legal right from condomn to gay marriages, it is permissible. A simple life saving medicine gets blocked due to having a little less than micron of a drug that enhances the recovery and is blocked for human safety standards and called as health hazard!

I hate smoking , my grandma died from lung cancer,but I hate Nazi's even more .What is happening to our freedom in this "free" country ,is crap .If you want to ruin your lungs I say go for it .Just stay out of my house.
