And im sure most of you will be like, well its a micky mouse cup we dont need to win that! But if you loose all these micky mouse cups all you will have left is the Champions league and premiership... and lets face it, you wont win either of those .......

But hey if port vale beat spurs i will shup my big mouth!! (But they wont)

I really do not care what excuse they use. They lost and were humbled by a very small club. But it can and regularly does happen.

I am a Spurs supporter and I am very confident that will not happen tonight against Port Vale. Even though Spurs will field the second line up tonight, it is still a very strong side that many Premiership teams now would like to have as their first choice - players like Mido, Defoe, Murphy, Huddlestone, Davids.

I don't have any excuses i was gutted we lost but we lose some we win some! And to your comment on "all you will have left is the Champions league and Premiership" you don't have any of those so at least we have something to shout about unlike you! And at least we have a chance of winning the Champions league unlike you who aren't even in the thing! But i was upset we lost but hopefully back to winning ways away to Blackburn Saturday come on Man U!

I hope they don't have any. It would be ridiculous to say that it was only a small cup and we're concentrating on the league, etc. etc. And I hope that is not the response from the club. I would rather they accept the defeat as a lesson and move on. We can't 'use' the league cup when we 'need' it and discard it as Mickey Mouse when we don't. That is NOT the MU way.

if david beat goliath there was every chance that southend would beat man u but at least we are top of the table and looking good to go thru in the champions league but id like 2 know what trophy spurs myt be winning this season maybe they have a trophy called the team that went 100 hours without scoring

ManU always either get caught out by the smaller teams - or just barely skim through. Let's me honest they just barely made it against Crewe... it is frustrating for us ManU supporters to watch.

Dunno - My theory is that they just completely underestimate the energy that those teams come up with on such a big night for them. So a lack of energy from ManU and extra energy from the under-dog.... you get an often surprising result.

Ah well ------ Champions League and Premier League here we come!! bwahaha!!

No excuse my friend, we simply weren't good enough. But lets be honest if you are going to have a stinker and need a kick up the backside in an important months football i would have picked last night. My reverse psychology didn't work, i took southend at 17/10 plus a goal so some consolation. OH and one more time thanks for teddy!!!!

you answered the question, it is a diddy cup that Man U dont have to win someone uninportant will win it like spurs, Man U will win the premiership and the last 4 in the Champs League.

I don't think some of the players really cared that much, apart from ronaldo.
The southend keeper was just brilliant and deserved is man of the match award.
Southend wanted it more than utd so good luck to them.

will it be something like a few years ago when they changed away strips halfway through the season because they got beat in the cup and claimed it was because their strips were gray and they couldnt see each other. or maybe the one "the pitch has been used for rugby 2 weeks ago and its still bumpy"
