Did you vote on Tuesday? Do you normally vote during midterm elections? Why or why not? What races or issues were important to you?
I don't normally vote, but I wanted my voice to be heard on several propositions on the Arizona ballot -- issues regarding a constitutional ban on gay marriage, immigration and smoking in public places.

Yes, I voted on Tuesday... and no, I have never voted in mid-term elections before yesterday. Sadly, the first fourteen years of my adulthood, I was too lazy to vote. In fact, the last presidential election was the first time that I voted in my life; so therefore, I haven't had the opportunity to vote in a midterm election. The most influential reasons that I voted yesterday were the state amendments and bond issues. Sadly, I pretty much knew that my vote wouldn't really make a difference in the outcomes of the elections since the state that I live in is highly democratic.

Sure did!
We had amendments to allow stem cell research and also a very high tax increase on tobacco oh and a very much needed increase to minimum wage. Those were mainly what lead me to the polls this time around. That and wanting to boot out the Republican that was in office.
We had the gay marriage brought up at the last elections, unfortunatly it did not pass here. Missouri is quite conservative.
But it looks like we are getting a Dem in the house so YAY!

I certainly did. I too am an Arizonan and made an extra effort this year to get to a voting station.
I don't normally vote in midterms because I haven't been elibible to vote for very long.
I was particularly interested in Props 107 and 201/206.

Yah. We just need change. Not that we're going to get it right away, but we need to shake up the gov't. I think a lot of people voted in protest to the way the Republicans have been running things the last 6 years.
Not to mention: Tom Delay, Bob Ney and Jack Abramoff, Randy Duke Cunningham, Ralph Arza, Scooter Libby, Mark Foley....did I miss anyone? :-)

I voted, It was my first time. I was so excited about it because I'm from Missouri and there were a lot of close races. I'm going to vote from now on.

Voting is the only chance to directly participate in choosing the leaders. Thus, exercise the right to vote.
