Some causes are fatigue, squinting a lot, consuming too much caffeine, or working in a less than ideal visual environment, e.g., staring at a computer screens for long periods of time. Just like a muscle spasm at any other part of the body, an eye twitch can mean you've taxed your muscles and need to relax them.
At home treatments that may help include hot baths, warm or cold compresses, rinsing your eyes out with warm water, or administrating eye drops.

If “twitching” is composed of muscle spasms in eyelids, the venture very probable is on the subject of your frightened equipment. for occasion, that's theorized that “eye twitches” regarding those muscle mass could be on the subject of emotional rigidity or actual eye rigidity—i.e., observing a working laptop or laptop all day. If the attention itself twitches, a much greater extreme subject must be an underlying venture. you have nystagmus, a affliction interior the attention’s motor (administration) equipment that reasons involuntary eye strikes.

I have the same problem with my left eye. Awhile ago it was real bad. And I asked this nurse works in the community she said it has to do with stress. And believe it or not I was moved from this area where I worked and the supervisor I had was giving me so much freaking grief it wasn't funny. Then it went away but to only come back when I finally communicated with my unit that it would be in the best interest of my family and the army to separate me. Again it went away to come back but not as bad when I come to realized I have no where to leave, no money and no job once I get out with my baby.

My left eye twitches every now and then. but it hasn't twitched in a long time. I believe it has something to do with the nervous system. Like when your leg will twitch or your hand or somthing. I don't believe it has anything to do with nearsightedness, although i do also have this condition.

It's called a benign fasciculation. It's no big deal and nothing to worry about. I get that quite often.
