ive seen a motherboard spects that says dualcore...so if i have a dual core cpu but not a dualcore motherboard,am i not going to have the benefit of the cpu's dualcore?

im planning to upgrade into dual core cpu but an old motherboard...please help.thanks

Actually the dual core chip probably won't even FIT on the motherboard. And I wouldn't try it either. You'll have to get a motherboard that's compatible with the processor.

www.newegg.com. Go there and find a compatible motherboard. The prices there are pretty much as cheap as you'll find anywhere.

download a BIOS update from your motherboard´s website. check there, if the specific update will support your cpu.
i think, now all socket 939 and AM2 motherboards support dual core AMD cpu-s. (X2 and FX60,62)
if you want to upgrade to a Pentium cpu, then check intel´s website....
