I think "Love Story" is difficult to beat, or "It Happened One Night" if you like the classics. "Blue Velvet" or "9 1/2 Weeks" if you're a little kinky!

The Lake House with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. It's not an old film, but I cried when I saw first, and I went back to the cinema to watch it again...

Although Jerry Maguire is my favourite movie, I don't think its the most romantic one. I think Ghost, You've Got Mail and Runaway Bride are far more romantic.

Using the classical definition of "romantic" (not the Hollywood version), I say Big Fish.
A guy twists up the story of his life into a retelling of a fantastic, romantic, but not entirely untrue account of his amazing experiences. I love it. :)

Lady Hawke with Rutger Hauer. I saw this movie on my very first date so it has a special place in my heart.
