pacifically not just the best song, but to suit exactly the scene in the movie, "having the time of my life" dirty dancing. Oh and by the way "no one puts baby in the corner! "

My current favorite is "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" by Donovan. There's one in particular, which I think may or may not be the title song, that goes like this:
If you want your dream to be
Build it slow and surely.
Small beginnings, greater ends
Heartfelt work grows purely.
If you want to live life free
Take your time, go slowly.
Do few things but do them well
Simple joys are holy.
Day by day, stone by stone
Build your secret slowly.
Day by day you'll grow, too
You'll know heavan's glory.
The other one I've been reminded I love only recently is "Have Your Ever Really Loved a Woman" from Don Juan de Marco.

I agree with leo, answer above, but I think he means 'Grease' rather than 'Greece' :-)
I like some musicals....Fiddler on the roof always rings a bell with me, because of my background, but in that the music is incidental to the story.
OK, Ill have to say 'The Rocky Horror picture show'. the whole soundtrack is fantastic,
who can forget Susan Sarandon singing 'Toucha, Toucha Touch me', or meat loaf singing 'Hot Patootie'.... but If I had to pick one from it, I would say Tim Curry singing 'Sweet Transvestite'.
absolutely fantastic!!
