Bush has made a mess in the Middle East that I believe nothing will cure now. Taking the oil as we have done isn't the answer.

Here's a true story from a few years ago:

A few years ago, in a small Canadian town in Ontario, a man was arrested by the RCMP (I think it was DUI). After he was released, he refused to do business with the RCMP any longer.

The man owned the only gas station for 50 miles in either direction.

The RCMP were surprised and then angry because he wouldn't sell gas to them any longer, but what could they do? Force him at gunpoint to sell? Take over his gas station and steal the gas? There's no law that says he has to sell to them (and this didn't qualify as discrimination under the human rights act).

The pigs had no choice from then on but to drive 100 mile round trips whenever they needed to fill their tanks. And there wasn't anything they could do about it.

---

How does this apply to the US? It applies because the US, whether you like it or not, DO NOT have to sell oil to you. If you don't like it, buy from someone else. If there is nobody else, then you'll have to go without.

And forget about financing the US invasion - oops, I mean reconstruction - with Iraqi oil profits. Taking another country's money and profiting by it is no different than when the Nazis went into Poland and other countries, confiscating jewish property and selling it for profit to finance their war or for Hitler's personal gain. Both are war crimes.

Additional:

I see a large number of dimwits who think taking the oil by force is the answer. Clearly such dimwits are (a) chickensh!t chickenhawks who are afraid to sign up and fight in Iraq, and (b) too stupid to figure out that stealing from other countries in the past is WHY terrorists attacked the US (or, during the Cold War, why communism spread so widely).

It`s not that they don`t want to share, they just don`t want to give it away. America wants sole rights at low prices. Thats the price for getting rid of Saddam.
