Because England has gone so stupidly politically correct that it doesn't want to offend other Religions. The fact that, if people from other Religions were going to get upset, it would be over Christmas itself not the stamps, seems to have absolutely nothing to do with it.

But let's face it, if it were not for Christ, there would be no Christmas (for all you atheists, I know it was originally a pagan festival but it would have been chucked out with all the other pagan festivals had the Church not wanted to celebrate Christ's birth) so people who are willing to leave Christ out of Christmas shouldn't be celebrating it at all.

I've seen the stamps, they are OK. It is no surprise that they have nothing to do with Christ on them to me. The other day i was at a garden centre with masses of decorations featuring every aspect of Christmas however you want to dress for it - pink and fluffy decs, black and elegant decs, traditional decs etc........ oh and tucked away it the corner a few tiny Cribs.

If you feel strongly about this, then make sure the cards you send have a religious theme, and put the Christ back into Christmas.

I think this reflects our society. A few years ago charity shops were refusing to sell Christmas cards with pictures of Christ on it. I take my own personal stand against it - I buy cards with a religious theme. The whole point of Christmas is Christ. And if we don't make an effort, it will just be another excuse to party with the origins long forgotten. Yes, I know it is based on a pagan festival etc etc.
If you feel that strongly about it, write to the PostMaster General and say so.

This is just the way the government tries to keep other believers happy. It is a sign of the times. We are not even supposed to say Merry Christmas, the pc way is to just say Happy holidays.

I have no use for being Politiacally Correct. I have been heard saying Merry Christmas all year round. I believe that I can celebrate the birth of Christ everyday.
as far as I am concerned no one will ever be able to take that away from me. It just takes more people atanding up and saying just that before it is too late.

unfortunately royal mail along with most other British service giving companies cant be seen to be favouring one religion over another.
I wonder if Trafalgar square will be having a traditional Christmas tree or will we have to keep Christmas celebrations private, so as not to offend any other religions? but maybe that should be another question, who knows!
But on the other hand Royal Mail relies on our christian festival Christmas for a huge chunk of the annual turnover. should they hold a non Christmas policy as well?

they always do festive stamps
have done for years
this year is no different - they are still the traditional seasonal images...

what are all you people on about?!
christmas stamps have been 'festive' for years now...you lot need to lay off the crack pipe this early in the morning...

the stamps have nothing to do with any other religions...if you asked 50 kids to design a christmas card or stamp you'd get a load of santas, snowmen, presents and robins...not many christs...thats nothing to do with political correctness, thats how christmas is...

and lets not forget that christmas was a pagan festival in the first place...

please can we all relax?

I am sure they will do their usual range of Christmas stamps; your question states that they wont be feauturing Christ this year - I cant recall a time when they did, they are always of other Christmas images.

The reason that Christ has been taken out of Christmas is that the churches have so much compromised with the values of this world that no-one believes that Christianity stands for anything distinctive anymore.

Stand and fight so that it hurts, you yellow-liver-ed Christians, and stop merely whinging.

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.

i think that Canada and well most if not all of the Western parts of the world should stand up and say OK this country is a Christan one and well we will not force by the sword which means under threat of death to change to follow our beliefs you will have to accept that here in this country we follow the teaching of Christ .
the mention i put in about the sword is there because that is the basic teaching of the Muslim faith and i could care no less if your PC about this check it out really check and you will see the Muslim belief is that they are to spread the word of there false prophet by the use of the sword or by use of death . that is why we are called infidels by them
