i havent watched the movie yet...this is my assignment for tommorow..pls i need somebody's help..the question i need to answer is why is named the movie "how to make an american quilt". Can you give me reactions regarding the movie..thank you!!!!

How to Make an American Quilt...It was about these ladies in a quilting bee who is making a quilt for Phinn's(wynona ryder) Wedding. She travels to her Grandma's, who is making the quilt with her old lady friends, so that she can finish her paper for graduate school. While she is there she listens to all these old ladies stories about when they were young and when they fell in love, etc. I think it was named How to Make an American Quilt because while these ladies were sewing together patches for a quilt, they bonded together as woman from all different walks of life. It gives a little history of what was happening in America in each story and how times have changed, yet situations of love remain pretty much the same. The movie was really nice because of the emotion each story brought to the film.

The movie centers around an ongoing quilting group that comes together weekly to exchange stories and engage in quilting. The story evolves with a visiting granddaughter (Winona Ryder) that is a potential runaway bride and how she brings out the older womens' stories, which include a single mother with a bi-racial child and two sisters (one is the grandmother) battling a long time feud. You should watch and find out what a great film (and book) it is!
