There isn't a single state in the Union that has banned same sex marriage. Homosexuals are still able to stand in a church, on a beach, in a park pavilion... wherever... and pledge lifelong commitment to each other.
What many of the states have done is alter state constitutions and pass legislation that prohibits the government/s from recognizing those marriages between same gender people.
No state has even attempted to ban the ceremonies outright.
If you believe they have, you are poorly educated on the subject.
