umm its not the operating system (ie windows xp) u shud b checking u shud check the cpu. most high-end intel cpus manufactured after the start of 2005 (AMD athlon 64 was available long bfore that tho) r 64 bit enabled however for ur comp 2 b able 2 take advantage of this u need a 64bit SUPPORTIVE operating system a version of xp pro was released about 2 years ago called windows xp professional x64 edition however not many ppl bought it cause some of basic yet essential features of xp (such as system restore) werent available for some reason. if u hav a 64 bit processor and u want full 64bit functionality then wait till vista comes out buy the 64 bit version.

In addition to the above answers you can also go to Start, Run, and type in 'winver', hit OK, that'll tell you what version of Windows you are running. Unless someone built the PC for you it isn't likely you're running XP 64.
