who can kill superman???

previously i have asked other ppl abt spiderman and Goku fighting superman, and most of the people think that Superman will win

so who can beat Superman??any idea??

Many have tried... few have succeeded.

Back in the sixties, the first ones to succeed in killing Superman were the Superman Revenge Squad. They came up with the idea of turning Kryptonite radiations into radio waves, and blanketing all Metropolis with them. (They did this by using a scientific device that broke down Kryptonite into energy, and then broke into a radio station and hooked it into the main transmitter.)

They tested it before the left their home planet, on an android that was programmed to think and act like Superman.

When they got to Earth and carried out their scheme, Superman could not figure out where the K radiation was coming from. It felt like it was right next to him! He could not fly out of range of the rays in time and he died.

They took his dead body back to their homeworld to gloat over him. When they put him in a tomb (sick trophy!), the android recovered and felt sorry for Superman. The android found the prototype, the device that was used as a proof-of-concept device, and reversed its action, so that it sucked the K-radiation out of Superman's body. He recovered.(The device killed the andrid, who was not invulnerable, like Superman.)

Then there was some other stuff about having to stop the SRS who threatened to erase all historical and scientific records, plunging the world back into the Dark Ages, unless they were voted into leadership. Superman stopped them, installed a ffreely elected leader, and they enshrined the body of the android, who was the one that really saved them all.

Then, years later, there was some story about a guy called Doomsday, but I'm sure he wasn't very significant.

There is a character called Mongul, who is very tough and strong, like Superman. IIRC, Mongul is the one who destroyed Coast City, which drive Hal Jordan mad and caused him to destroy the rest of the GL corps. So, Mongul is a bada ss.

There was a great story with Mongul attacking Superman in the Fortress of Solitude on Superman's birthday. He almost beat Wonder Woman to death, brushed Batman aside with one hand, and was planning to rip Superman's head off and carryit on a spear-point. It was Robin that finally defeated Mongul but I don't know if this story is considered canonical. It was called "For the Man who has Everything" At the end, Superman spoke of throwing Mongul into a black hole. So I don't know if he is still available. But he was tough.

There's a great debate on who would win in a fight: Superman or Batman. At first glance, Superman would be the obvious choice with his superpowers compared to Batman's gadgets. But Superman is for justice and good while Batman will go use kryptonite on Superman.

On the other hand, Goku from DBZ might have a real chance, especially if they both had a few practice fights first - since the more Goku fights, if his opponents are stronger than he is, the stronger Goku gets (kinda like the Hulk).
