No. The movie you mention while having spectacular CGI was fiction. Hollywood is in the business of selling tickets, as a result, they stretch the facts about as much as a politician does.

Of course not. A movie is meant primarily to entertain, not educate. It might be based on some research, but it's fiction just the same. Wanna learn science? Study in school, read books, surf the internet, and go experiment yourself. Wanna relax and entertain yourself? Watch a scifi film.

Like in the movie NO. But it is certain that at some point we will enter a new ice age. Those events could take as long as a thousand years or as short as 100 years. We are responsible in that we are helping the weather with our pollutants.

The start out with the facts but then the facts aren't as astonishing so they stretch them.
Bottom line, after you watch a movie with scientific information, verify it from a trusted source before believing it.

Hollywood is the last place to resort to for believable information simply because of the tendency to over exaggerate, hmm, EVERYTHING...

hollywood is at best or least a series of half truths...research is done...say for instance the series star trek...but also fiction in their delivery of science facts are mixed in...so it's half and half...not to be taken too seriously I suppose heh...good luck...
