No, not literally! I mean are people forming relationships with dogs in place of with other people. For example, I saw a woman in the mall caring a Chihuahua in her arms, clothing and all, while her small daughter lagged behind them.

I've often heard obsessive dog lovers say that their pooches don't talk back and love unconditionally. The problem with this is that it creates a one sided relationship, emotionally any way. Relationships with people take effort, it's hard, and this is why I think they shy away from them. The dog fills a void, although this is terrible because it this is not a real relationship, in the people sense. I tend to think people are becoming more and more selfish, and the only one who puts up with it is Rover.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my dog, but I’m aware that he is an animal dog and not my child. I do not use the dog to fill up an emotional void

Dogs as we know, --are man's best friends and known for absolute dedication and loyalty. However, they are still animals and cannot replace man, the higher form of life. The dog won't give you a ride, won't carry-on a conversation with you, won't marry you and won't perform many duties of man who has superior intelligence.

People can imagine their pets to be substitute for human affection; however these people are in delusions.

I don't have kids, and don't want any. I do have dogs, though. But the relationship with an animal, although it can be quite intensely close, is different from a relationship with a human being.

After great disappointment and encounters with selfish and uncaring people, some even stole from us, we decided it was safer for us to be alone. We rescued one dog, now we have three dogs, also three cats.
They bring us joy and laughter and do not lie and pretend to care about us for personal gain. We are Senior Citizens and would be totally alone, if we did not have our pets.

I think that this kind of people are looking to get way from reality and to avoid relationships with humans. they're confusing about having animal as pets and having them as members of the family. They absolutely need treatment!!

There's nothing wrong with that. Pets take up the slack where people leave off. It's not good to forsake one's children in any case, but it's also not good to be overly dependent on people . A little of this, a little of that . . . a good mix of give and take
between your friends and your pets should offer a good balance.

When you don't have kids, animals become your kids.
