Why do people make decisions?

Because they must. A person who is unwilling to make decisions causes untold problems around him. Not only does he effectively force others to make decisions for him, but he invariably complains when these decisions turn out badly. So if you would be an adult, you make decisions.

But perhaps your question was really on what basis do they make their decisions? This, of course, depends on the person. If you are lucky, a large measure of reason and logic and looking honestly at the facts is involved. But certainly these rational elements need to be informed by what is generally referred to as "the heart," but which often is in turn "informed" by still lower chakras.

Hmmm, that's a somewhat vague question.... in my experience, people usually do the opposite and avoid making decisions. How many people do you know who procrastinate in making decisions? I think people usually make decisions only when they have to and they've run out of time for considering other options.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Seriously, it's necessary. If you don't decide to get up and go to the fridge, you'll sit on the couch and starve to death. Then again, by not deciding to go to the fridge, you essentially decided to stay sitting on the couch. It really is unavoidable. You decide, even when you're being indecisive.

I would have to say because we can we have free will to think and thought process to analyise situations so we can make deciions. or else we would have to always rely on someone else to decide for us , an think for us what is what they think is best for us..
