Hun i know how you feel I'm 11 weeks pregnant and been dealing with a cold. Ive found that hot tea with lemon and honey have helped a lot. Vick's vapor run and propping up on several pillows have helped
you can also use saline nose drops to help open up your nostrils. You can use Cough drops as long as they are just the menthol ones. Good luck and i hope u feel better soon!

You poor thing! 1st trimester and a cold! Try a humidifier in your room and add a few drops of eucalyptus oil, it will work like a natural vapor rub (available at health food stores).
Also drink a tea made from lemon, fresh ginger root, cayenne pepper and honey. The lemon is high in vitamin C and will help cleans the extra mucus out of your body. The ginger stimulates your circulatory system, and helps with nausea. Cayenne is also very high in vitamin C, good for circulation and boosts your immune system. Honey is soothing, yummy and is a natural antibiotic and is safe for pregnant women to take. (Your digestive system is acidic, and will kill the botulinum spores that cause food posioning in babies.)

Can you take your prenatal vitamins? My doc put me on those right off the bat, as soon as I stopped puking them up. Off-subject, sorry---- did you try a humidifier? You can turn the shower way up (super hot) and just sit in the steam, that might help. Drink some hot chocolate too, that might help your scratchy throat. Get lots of sleep too! Whining at my husband always helped me feel better. Still does, come to think of it. Good luck and congrats!

I really feel for you, i had flu in my last 2 weeks and i genuinely felt like i was dying!!! A world without Beechams is no world at all! : ) Remember theres always a helpline on the back of products, but i guess if your doctors recommended you take nothing then you have to listen to them. I spent most of my days with my head over a bowl of hot water with a towel over my head! Being pregnant is bad enough without being ill. MEN HAVE NO IDEA DO THEY!!!

I simply am getting over a bloodless, I bought it final weekend. Unfortunately, there may be not anything you'll be able to take instead of tylenol. But you are not able to take the tylenol bloodless and flu, simply the constant stuff. Just attempt to sleep, get plenty of fluids and trip it out. Sorry. I want there used to be anything else, I suppose anyone might make a LOT of cash in the event that they determined anything that pregnant ladies might take for bloodless signs.

fever: tylenol should be safe...but i still wouldn't take too much...i would try to just take it once.
stuffy nose: saline nasal spray (this is just salt water...it'll dilute out the congestion, so u can clear out easier)
sore throat: gargle very very salty warm water....do NOT swallow. gargle for at least 1 minute. (go for 2 minutes if u can.)
u aren't taking vitamins?? please get a bottle of Prenatal vitamins...they r vitamins designed for pregnant women. just take one pill a day. also get more vitamin c in ur diet while u r sick...eat oranges, pineapples...basically citrus fruits (lemons, limes r citrus fruits too). if u don't like fruits...take vitamin c tablets...500 mg twice a day with food is the usual dose...u could consider just taking 500 mg once a day with food if u don't want to take too much.

drink hot water and lemon. u can add ginger as well. eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies. REST!
vicks is ok, as well as paracetamol.
for the 1st trimester, ur supposed to take folic acid (folate). this helps with the development of the neural tube (which becomes the brain and spine) and helps prevent defects. u can start the multivits/prenatal vits after that.

Congrats, I am also 6 weeks w/ my 3rd child. You can't take anything, & no home remedies are even very safe. And no matter what any one tells you...no honey it is toxic to a baby even in utero. Try a cool mist humidifer worked wonders for me,
