This might surprise you but you can legally use your maiden name your entire life!!! The reason why most married women don't is because it complicates things of a legal nature if you use one name here and one name there... that is why so many women hyphenate maiden and married name together. So; for example you can be Mrs. Mary Smith for 60 years and one day decide to be Mrs. Mary Jones (your maiden name) and it is perfectly legal although you are still married.
Also you might like to know that when you divorce it is the only time that it is absolutely free for you to legally change your name to any name you want... In my case I didn't want either my married or maiden name so I chose to keep my first, middle names and changed my last to one I liked better!! (At 32 years of age.) Any other time its costs big bucks to change your name... so this is another option for you at this time.
Hope this helped to clear it up!

There was no need to have changed your maiden name after marriage. No one does it these days. Since you have done it already, you can either change it by filing an affidavit immediately or wait until the divorce is through.

Yes, until such time the court declare your married devorce/separated then you can again use your maiden as you wish. It was Adam who introduced marriage his children with Eve. Now all religions conitune that marriage tradition as holy and sacred vow in the eyes of God.People nowadays are not keen of this tradition, some spouses live-together without vows officiated either by church or courts. They are not oblige to respect their relationship. They can leave their spouse any time or they can stay with them forever.

Some women never gave it up or insist on those hyphen surnames or retain it as their professional name like all those female celebs. The hassle is with those things like credit cards and joint bank accounts. Don't bother waiting for the lawyers to give you a bill, do it now.

Some legal documents may have to be signed in your married name until you legally change it back to your madien name.
But you can call yourself what ever name you want. Kid Rock calls himself Kid Rock but signs legal papers Robert Richie.

You can use your maiden name at an time you wish. You can change your sir name any time you wish.
However you cannot change your first names on official documents etc.
You can, by just writing a letter to the tax, council tax etc. saying that you now wish to be known as....
To do it officially which stops any confusion you can change your name by deed poll.

No you dont have to wait.
Women have the right to change back to their maiden name at any time, because their maiden name is their legal name................
When you marry and you take the husbands name its not a legal name change, you are just taking hubbys name, your legal name is your maiden name, the name that is on your birth certificate.
I am not divorced yet and I have already changed my name back.
