I showed them my voter registration card and my driver's license. My driver's license I had to show twice, once to to show I was registered and the other to verify my district and sign in.

I dont think that in our country like India needs it.
Well Government passed the law to have the Voter id but due to corruption all is in vain i've seen my self one person voting 7 times & that person was under age.
India will take time to change.

Yes, i have no problem showing my ID to vote as I only want citizens voting.

I have voted in every election since 1994 and have never shown my id. However, I do think that it should be a requirement at all polling places.

Voting could be made even if there is no ID presented as long as you are registered and your name is on the voter's list.
