Do you think the person is asking the question for their gain of knowledge? Because it is something that they want/need to find an answer to?
Or do you think the person is just asking a question, becuase they are on yahoo answers and got tired of answering?

I would say both. Most of the time, I ask because I don't know the answer. I know I've thought of asking a question that I could probably easily look up online, but I don't think I have yet.

I try to answer questions, that can either help or give insight, my answer are from what i have learned or experienced, I don't give info to impress or to chit chat, and if you accept it or not, it is totally on you. I'm not good at asking questions cause they are for humor/ that most miss, or they are questions that only come out half way and the point is lost. Never was good at asking.

why ask, Questions are questions some are for answers some are just sent out for feed back, and some might be for real help. Who knows but I love to answer the ones I can ,and the ones I can't I just read with no input..

Any of the above. Mostly, I don't think it is any of my business WHY they ask unless they want to share the why. I usually ask just to give people something to answer. Sometimes, I am really curious.

I think it is more for entertainment, will at least this section of Answers is. The other sections may be legitimate need for answers.
