I stayed there last year. I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it. If you are not in a preferred room (one closer to the pool & main building) you might have to walk a bit. (Does it really matter when you are walking all day at the parks)
This year I stayed at All-Star Movies. (I liked Pop Century better)
The buildings are each themed for a different decade: such as the 50's, 60's, 70's, etc. At night, you can go to the one of the 50's buildings and there is a spot where you can really see the fireworks from one of the parks (sorry, I don't remember which one)
Have fun!!

The Pop Century Resort is a fun resort, especially for families with kids. However, just like all of the All Star Resorts, your door to your hotel room leads directly outside. I'm not a huge fan of these style of hotels. I prefer my room to be inside a building with a lobby and everything.
But, the upside is that any of the All Star Resorts, including Pop Century, are much cheaper than other Disney Resorts and you get all the Disney perks including free transportation, package delivery, etc...

We stayed there last year. The exterior is exceptional. However, the pool is not heated, and there is no hot tub, or even a kiddie pool. The rooms are little better than econolodge type budget hotels. Very small but clean. The restaurant is cafeteria style. Good place if you are spending very little time there... but I had small children who couldn't do all day at the parks, and I found the room too confining. This year we stayed a the Old Key West which was wonderful. I recommend spending a little extra!
