Women want to be slim (as in Vogue and in high fashion magazines), while men want their women curvy. How do we reconcile this?

Women who constantly want to be thin do so not because they feel that men prefer them to be thin. (don't men like boobs and butts?) They do so because of competition with other women. Women often compare with each other to see who has lost the most weight, who can fit into the smallest jeans...

Women in fashion do not have men's preferences in mind. Models are often much skinnier than the average woman because even designers admit that high fashion models have to be "walking clothes hangers". To them, when amplified in fashion magazines and on the runway, a woman of average size would simply make the clothes look unattractive.

If all men wanted curvy women there would be no fashion industry. There would be no celebrity fever. the fashion industry, modeling, acting, pornography, etc... anything where a woman's worth is based on her "beauty" is run by men. There will be no reconciliation until all people regardless see people's worth as more than the superficial ways we see them now.

A woman needs to be true to herself and men can just deal with it. This isn't just a matter of looks, but of health as well. We have girls who look like stick figures and "shapely" women risking diabetes, heart disease etc. because they are too heavy. Obesity is now considered the number one health threat to Americans.

I have this problem with my Girlfriend right now, we have both gained weight since we met ( Cause we are both very happy ) and she thinks she is fat, but I have never been with such an attractive and well built woman. But she says the same about me when I ***** about my weight. as far as slim or curvy, I want a woman who is healthy and happy with herself, I like slim and I like curvy, but most of all I like healthy and happy.

We don't. First of all, we don't have to be beautiful. This is not an important measure of our self worth. Second, different body types are fine the way they are.
