i am trying to find a building for a thrift store of my own and what i am needing to find out is , once i pay the deposit and rent on a store and get a business license and a tax id #, what else do i need to do before opening for business, do i need to get a city inspection and stuff like that? i live in dallas texas if that makes a difference

I tend to feel the owner of the building is responsible for getting the needed inspections and seeing they all pass within standards required by law. However, it doesn't hurt for you to research what safety sanitation and fire code requirements are called for your building to have as a commercial business.
