The turnout was absolutely fantastic for a midterm election. In some places, turnout was compared to 2004. Perhaps the bitter partisanship of recent years will have the hidden benefit of increasing voter engagement.
It will be interesting to see if this recount in Virginia upholds Webb's narrow win. It's entirely possible that as Montana goes, so goes the Nation tonight.
Here's the best part about America, we just had a shift of power in the government, and not a drop of blood was shed. In many countries, this could result in a violent coup. Don't take this country for granted!

You are very welcome!
Even though it was a dismal day today(rain, fog) I voted. Wild horses couldn't keep me away. Despite the weather, it did turn out to be a glorious day.
Next focus. Election 2008.
Of course, we will all watch as the next 2 years unfold. We will watch closely the progress that is made by this new Congress.

YAAAAAAY! I'M SO HAPPY!!! This is one of the best feelings in the world... hopefully, Democrats will win the Senate, too, which seems to be the case. This day just uplifted my spirit and gave me an opportunity to laugh at all the repubs. *siiigh*
