With 10 plus inches of rain in one day, could the ground get softened enough to cause the earthquake? Or is it just fault lines?

Earthquakes occur miles beneath the surface and involve tectonic plates, cracks and fissures, well beneath any water tables or soaking.

Earthquake were caused by the movement between the earth's tectonic plates.Soft ground only causes mudslides,landslide,or even collapsing downwards.

No earthquakes but maybe landslides and mud slides-the earthquakes have to do with the tectonic plates- D
