i'm staying in swiss garden hotel which is located near jalan alor. how to i get to one utama from my hotel? any simple bust/lrt route or if by cab how much will it cost?

I am Malaysian. Travel with taxi or cab around Kuala Lumpur is last choice for me because it is expensive and traffic congestion is big problem in Kuala Lumpur. Basically taxi in Kuala Lumpur is cheap compare to other cities in the world if the driver use meter. If you get one driver whose use meter all the time, you should get his or her contact number for future convenience because it is hard to find taxi driver which use meter.
There are several ways to go to One Utama from Swiss Garden Hotel.
The cheapest way is get Rapid KL bus number T82 in KL Sentral (English: Central) . You can take KL monorail service in Hang Tuah station to go to KL Sentral. Hang Tuah station is walking distance from Swiss Garden Hotel.
The convenience way is get shuttle service in hotels near by Swiss Garden Hotel. The shuttle service starts at Melia Hotel in Jalan Imbi at 11am and 2pm daily. The shuttle service also goes to other Hotels to pick up passengers. Melia Hotel, Dorsett Regency Hotel and Novotel Century Hotel are near to Swiss Garden Hotel. the other hotels are near to KLCC.
Another way is catch LRT in Pasar Seni(Art Market) station to Kelana Jaya station and take a taxi to One Utama.
Last choice is get a taxi in front of Swiss Garden Hotel. The price is around RM 20 to 30.
reminder, LRT and KL monorail service only available between 6am to 12pm. if you decide to catch a late night movie in One Utama, you need to plan proper before you go for the movie. Taxi will charge double or more the normal price after midnight.

the easiest way to get to One Utama from Swiss Garden Hotel is via the KL Monorail & the RapidKL trunk route buses.
from the hotel, you can walk towards the KL Monorail station either to Imbi or Hang Tuah station & take the train ride to KL Sentral. the fare is MYR 1.60 for one way fare.
at KL Sentral, you may take a RapidKL bus no T82 (KL Sentral - Bandar Utama) & the fare is MYR 2.00 (UTAMA). do remember to keep the ticket as the ticket can be used when you wish to return to KL Sentral. the journey will take about 40 minutes to reach its destination.

i really don't know where exactly you are or which country utama is in but did you try going to the front desk at your hotel to see if they can direct you? or you can call the operator from the phone provided to you. good luck
