Honestly, I thought that was an @ss-kicking, but I give it up for the Repubs for trying anyway.

An a** kicking would have been taking control of both the house and the senate. (I live in MT and alot of the Republican counties are still out, Burns will take it) I gotta give it up though, its been a long time since the Dems have had some positive momentum. And Jesi, You have not been around long if this is the biggest a** kicking you've seen. As history goes the Republicans should have lost alot more seats.

It was a huge win. In the end they will have picked up likely around thirty seats in the house and they may well do the unthinkable and take the Senate when only a third of the seats were up. The truth is that what needs to be pointed out is that a lot of those votes were anti-Bush votes, so the Democrats REALLY neeed to spend 2007 showing that are indeed a better alternative. Personally I think that will happen, but if it doesn't they will lose much of the ground they gained in two years.

They did gain alot of ground. I wouldn't necessarily call it a landslide, though. It just tightened things up a bit. I don't think either the House or the Senate are going to succeed in getting much done in the next few years. Reps and Dems have both been behaving like little bratty children. :(

well so much for being a good winner....landslide...no, *** kicking...maybe but the dem's and their supporters better be very careful with all this name calling and gloating because this is only the beginning, the really hard stuff starts tomorrow and that means all the promises and all the plans need to be put into motion and as of yet i have heard few promises and no plans but plenty of hate...time will tell and we'll see just what your party is made of.

A landslide constitutes an overwhelming victory. This election was so close there is no one in America that could reasonably consider it a landslide. It was simply a democratic process, not in any way a landslide.

At least close to 1. A very bad day for Reps & the country.

The people voted whether Dem or Rep and hopefully we can get over the party lines that divide us and get back to business - there is quite a bit of it I hear...

It wasn't a landslide. The country is pretty well split.

Yes, this was an *** kicking. It was similar to the *** kicking in '94 by repubs.
