is it ok to first have money in the bank, a house and a car before getting married? is it healthy for our relationship to not get married at this time bacause we haven't have these things yet?

You sound like me and my fiancee. We are paying off all our bills before we get a house. We are going to get a house and stuff before we get married. We figure maybe that will help out some with the stress of marriage if we already have some things in order. He also wants to provide me with a house and stability before marriage. I don't have any problem with it, I would rather have all these things in the beginning instead of having to worry about it afterwards. I wish yall all the luck.

You must have these things girl. Unfortunately a marriage cant survive on love alone. If you are constantly struggling to pay the biulls to make ends meet when will u have time to ever see each other. Your idea was right, stick with it. GEt your finances in order then your marriage life will be that much better and u can also plan for kids and a family. We dont live 2000 years back. This is a reality that most young people dont understand.
Trust me ur life will be that much better later on with your hubby

its perfectly fine. that's actually a really good idea. if you make sure everything is financially stable before marriage it could prevent fights over bills and money. but if you get married beforehand i guess it will just be based on your relationship and how well things go. i wish the best of luck to you

as far as YOU are concerned, i think that it is a good idea to have your own bank account and your own car before marriage. you should have at least those two things in your name only (in case the relationship goes sour).

Sounds like you are making marriage a legal contract and basing it on materialistic items. Marriage is about love. Example for "richer or POORER"
