I spent $150 total on maternity clothes today. I spent $100 at Old Navy and bought 8 shirts, 2 pants and 2 capris.

Then I bought 40 pieces of used maternity clothing for $30. The used clothes were from Motherhood, the Gap and Target. It included 25 very cute shirts, 4 pants, 2 jeans, shorts, and much more.

All I need to buy is underwear and maternity bras later on. My clothes should fit me my entire pregnancy unless I gain 50+ pounds!

My husband thought $150 was too much, but I got enough clothes to last 9 months and more pregnancies.

Oh and I work in a business casual office, so I can't get away with just buy big shirts and sweats during my pregnancy. :(

What do you think?

No, you did not not spend too much. Especially if you are planning on more pregnancies!

Explain to your husband that since maternity clothes are only worn for about 9 months at a time and then put away until the next time around, they last forever. it sounds like you got a ton of clothes and it could have been WAY worse!!!

P.S. old navy's maternity underwear is ridiculously comfy and doesn't ride up into odd places... just thought i would share... lol.

I think you made out like a bandit. Motherhood Maternity cost me and arm and a leg, so did Target. I spent about $70 at Old Navy, I bought 3 pairs of pants and 2 shirts. Walmart didn't have much. I am on bed rest now, so I don't really have a good reason to go out and buy clothes. I will stick to PJs with elastics waists and hubby's tshirts. I think you did pretty damn good, tell your husband it could be MUCH worse!

You did great! I don't know how you could have possibly spent less on a wardrobe that will get you through 9 months. If your husband thinks $150 was too much money to spend on maternity clothes, he is going to facing a real reality check once the baby gets here.

Given the fee of maternity put on in shops, you will have to be capable to get a minimum of $50 or $60 dollars for all that. If no longer extra. But constantly record a lessen considering the fact that in any other case humans could no longer even appear two times.

I bought all of my maternity clothes (REAL maternity clothes that fit properly) at a local thrift store, I spent less thatn $100.00 and even got a Versace' maternity dress for special occasions (had a wedding to go to) that was the most expensive topping out at a whopping $25.50. I got maternity pants, busines dress slacks because of where I used to work, as well as alot of maternity blouses. All of the clothing was in great shape and when I was done with it I gave it to another thrift store.

I think you did a great job. Is this your first prgnancy?
I'm at the end of my pregnancy(2 weeks left) & I think I spent to much on hardly any clothes that don't even fit me anymore & it's too late to go buy more. I lounge at home in my Hubby's boxers & undershirts most of the time anyway. I think I would have spent a fortune if I was still working when as I got bigger.

I think $150 for 8 old navy shirts, and 4 bottoms, sounds like a great deal!

if you are asking us if you spent too much you probably did? I dont thionk you spent too much- especially being your first pregnancy... because you can keep them and use them for other pregnancies.. also you wont fit into your reg clothes for awhile after you give birth- so you get much more use than 9 months out of them. I would wait until way later to buy nursing bras if you can-- your breasts get larger during pregnancy.. but nothing compared to how large they get when your milk comes in.

i think that anything spent on first pregnancy is less. bcos its valuable to have ur first child and its very much necessary that the mom to be feels happy and elated.
