is it healthy for a relationship to have girlfriends push their steady boyfriends to secure a bank account and continuously save money in it before getting married?

If you have plans to marry then this should've been something he already thought of. Pushing him to do anything with his money will most likely cause resentment on his part. It's like telling him you don't trust his judgement.

On the same token if he weren't responsible enough to think about saving up for the future in the first place, I would think twice about even marrying him.

My husband and I have a joint savings account that we opened together long before we were married. Mind you we were living together this account we both have to go into the bank to take the money out of, so that way we actually save more money. We transfer money into it whenever we can.
Are you planning on getting married? Do you live together and have done so for a long period of time? If you say yes to either or both of those questions maybe sit down and talk to him. Explain your concerns. Saving money for anything is always a good thing.

Love is the back bone of a happy married life. But to strength the life you need money. To buy a house, to buy furniture for new house, ...... etc you need some amount of money. So it is quite intelligence to have steady increasing bank account before marraige.

The boyfriend should be grown up enough to do this on his own. Sounds like you are being his mommy. Would you like him to tell you what to do with your money?

No. You and him need to be on the same level about this. Pushing him into it will cause problems.

No. If he is the one working for the money in question, he should do what he wants with it.

don't do this as boyfriend and girlfriend...there is no commitment. when you get engaged go for it but don't rush into finances without being committed to one another.
