Did you know that you could now use different fonts in Notepad? As you know, the only font in Notepad has been 12 point Fixedsys. However, Windows 98's version of Notepad comes with a Set Font command on the Edit menu. When you select the command, you'll see the standard Font dialog box and can easily select another font.
However, keep in mind the Notepad's font feature is limited. First, you can only use one font in a document. This means that once you change the font, all text in the document is effected. Second, Notepad's font settings are local and aren't saved with the document.
For example, suppose that you create a document using the Arial font and save it on your hard drive. You then create a second document using the Goudy Old Style font. After you save that file, you then open the first document. However, when you do, it's now formatted with the Goudy Old Style font rather than the Arial font with which it was created.

Courier is the standard, but you can set it to any font you chose. At least with my Windows XP that is possible.
