am very interested in travel/tourism which makes me want to go to school to become a Hospitality Manager.. for those who don't know what that is.. Hospitality Management is a manager who works in Hotels, Resorts, Motels, anything dealing with travel/tourism and they also work in the food industry.... Now with that.. I'm not sure if its a demanding field and if it would b good n the future or a good living.... My question is should I go to school for that or go into a career that I know is demanding but I'm not interested in it, which would b the medical field.... thanks a lot ppl...

My best answer to this is do what you love to do. If you love to do something you will probably excell at it. A career in tourism sounds like fun. Any time you deal with the public it will be challenging. I would recommend working on a tour ship, you would travel all over and being on a ship would bring on lots of challenges. I'd do some research first then decide. If you do not enjoy what you do you will probably not do well at it. I look at it this way, One third of your life is sleep, one third of your life is leisure (fun), and one third of your life is work, Why not enjoy your work too?

Tourism is a growth industry, and is expanding worldwide. Short of some calamity like the outbreak of a world war, it will continue to grow, in particular as countries like China relax their travel restrictions and become more affluent.
If you are interested in that field, there should be a good future for you.
If you think medicine is demanding but not interesting, then it is the wrong career choice for you. If you aren't doing something that you have a passion for -- something that you would do even if you didn't get paid -- then you are in the wrong business because you will spend the next forty years of your life doing something that you don't like. Can't think of anything that would numb your spirit more than that.
So go for the travel industry, and hopefully we'll see you somewhere in a few years time when you graduate and work at a fascinating new destination.

My daughter has a friend who has worked at various hotels in Chicago for the past 5-7 years. She works sixty, yes, I said sixty hours per week and rarely if ever has a day off. She doesn't make a huge amount of money, but she works her butt off. She works twelve or fourteen hour shifts.

But, if the medical field is not interesting to you, then don't pursue that as a career. You will end up hating it.

very sturdy question! nursing isn't all that undesirable, the pay could nicely be particularly sturdy in case you come back to a call to specialize (grow to be a nurse anesthetist or practitioner).....yet once you haven't any longer have been given the midsection for it because of the fact of it relatively is grind, i think of regulation could be yet another determination...you may artwork in a central authority interest and not get under pressure too a lot and make a sturdy profession....you additionally can get entangled in business employer because of the fact you get exhilaration from debating and negotiating.....sturdy success with your profession determination

Do what makes you happy but I can see where you are coming from. You want a career that would make you money and give you security. Maybe you can combine two different interests
