Hard to say exactly- have been a long time New Order Fan and have read quite a few magazine interviews and seen interviews/documentaries. The DVD NewOrderStory is quite insightful if you want to learn more about the band. Have heard several times that Blue Monday was just an experiment and Barney has admitted to having difficulty writing lyrics and has been more inclined to improvise. Live versions of New Order songs often have different lyrics to the finished songs.
