I know that tv shows need commercials, but does anything seem wrong to you with this show? It just seems that SEARS presenting a house to a girl with no arms every week crosses some kind of ethical line. Any buyers on this idea?

You DO know that Sears is owned by KMart, right? Of course! They're exploiting a natural market niche-- the down-home, blue-collar, lower middle class. You know, the same folks who buy their kids' clothes at Wal-Mart, like to visit Disneyland (if they can afford it), and take their kids to McDonalds for a sundae as a treat. Nothing unethical about it, just doesn't sit right with "thinking folk" who can't stand the show to begin with... Welcome to the post-modern era...

I'm not going to hate on what you wrote but you do bring up a good point...at least one that makes you think...

I hope that Sears isn't exploiting these people but it's a cruel world and people will do what they gotta do to earn the extra dollar.

I don't think it's their intention to exploit poor families...I think they truly want to help them...at least Ty seems to (as well as his crew). I personally don't watch the show as I do feel that it leans towards exploitation, but I would hate to think that it is the driving force behind the show. I don't want to cry that much when watching a show, so I don't watch it. I'm not into emotional manipulation.

I think the show is legit and Sears gets their plug in cuz of all the stuff they donate. If u see the way the people on the show cry u can see it is genuine.

If they built me a house and gave me all that free stuff i'd let them exploit me too!

If they do, they still help out needy ppl.
