My roomates and I ran out of dishwasher soap, and so we tried to use regular dish soap--but we only put in a little bit. (Yes we understand that dishwasher soap has the stuff that prevents the water from getting really bubbly and that you aren't supposed to use dish soap). However, it's still too sudsie. What can we add so that it won't bubble as much? Salt? Baking Soda?

Since you have an adventurous spirit, why don't you try a few drop of dish soap and put in some baking soda. Baking soda can clean alot of things. Then again there is vinegar, is has cleaning capabilities. And I think online, you can get vinegar cleaning tips. I would think vinegar would cut down anything you wanted to diminish. You should let us know how your experiment comes out.

Vinegar. 2 cups. This will only neutralize the detergent so it will rinse out better. It is not intended make the dish washing soap work in the dishwasher. There is no substitute for dishwasher detergent.

Absolutely nothing will keep the bubbles from happening. Just go to the store and buy some dishwasher detergent or better yet wash them by hand until you get to the store.
