first of all it depends how much 80 of hours can hold because quiantly of the video, the higher and better it is, the more space it eats up.
***********
lets say 80 gb is your shoppoing storage
buying a Internal Hard Drive- (80gb whould be about $50 bucks)
PRO: give you more space, is always on so you can transfer there super FAST,
CON: not portable much, so if you need to show some movies to your friends you have transfer to them with usb, ethernet, or any other means, or you can take apart from computer put in your friends pc and setup jumpers. bascially time consuming and frustion if it doesn't work out.
Buying a External Hard Dive (80 GB is $100)
PRO: portable
CON: not as fast as internal Hard Drive, Transfer is slower, Price is higher when you try to get a the same amount for stoarge compare to internal
Buying IPOD + 80 GB HD ($300 for 60gb so 80 might be more)
PRO: portable :), plus you get to listen to music. you can convert to mp4 and watch on the lcd screen :)
CON: tranfers isn't as fast as internal hard Drive, Price is higher when you try to get a the same amount for stoarge compare to internal and external hard drives, the battery is not make to watch movies so the batttery drains fast if you watch series or movies on it, i'ts only make to watch clips ont he LCD screen
Buying DVD-RW with CDs ($30 bucks for DVDRW, CD are usally $30 for pack of 100 and DVD are $50 of 100)
PRO: saves cost when you compare the total amount of storage, portable
CON: time consuming when you transfer(dvd takes 15-20min to record a full data disc), gets messy and you need a shelf os something to store them, plus if you are lazy you might no even wnat to put back in your computer.
I had that kinda for question a while ago.
###########
I have a 120GB hard on my computer, i d/l a lot of JDRAMA and KDRAMA so each series are atleast 10gb :) so we know it eats up a lot
I also download them and trade off with my friends so we don't have to d/l and waste space so much, so usally swap for series for a week to watch. in your case you should get a internal hard drive if your not trading files over and only need storage. becase it fast and cost less.
i used to burn them on cds, but i would have 10 cds per series, TOO MUCH CD when you burn 20 series
i switch over to DVD disc, but after burning 30 series, i have 30 disc, in which is ard to find which one and gets ruin (scatches easily) both method of cd burning takes a lot of time.
I boughy myself a 80gb external hard drive, and i'm been doing that eversince. i just swap my hard drive them and they start to buy one too so we just swap back and forward hard drives :)

80 gigs can hold an average of 78-80 hrs depending on quality. You should buy the extra harddrive because you would need room to transfer files to the IPOD or Cd's. The problem with transferring it to DVD's is that the average DVD can only hold 2-3 hrs.(2-3 gigs) of memory. You can get a good 100 gig harddrive for around $100. The Ipod would be $200-400 and I'm not even going to start to estimate the DVD's.

Buy A Hard Drive (economical option)
NewEgg should have 160GB for under $100. If you are brave enough to open the computer and install it. This is probably your best bet.
Buy an 80GB ipod (entertaining option)
You might forget about the computer are you buy an iPod. However, and iPod is worthless without iTunes, and iTunes is worthless without hard drive space to install it and hold your music and video library. It also connects to your computer via USB 2.0 which may or may not be the most efficient way to transfer data. If you can backup your important files onto a flash drive (they start at $19), you can then format the hard drive and reinstall windows, which should ge your space back.
DVD Burners, is a good option if you format your hard drive and reinstall windows. In your current situation it is useless, because you need empty hard drive space to perform a back up.
With all of that said, buy a 1GB flash drive, backup your important files, and reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows.
