The Mustang, but are you thinking of the correct Subaru? There is a Subaru that is a bad @ss and would have the mustang for lunch, but I don't think it's the Forester XT SUV. What Mustang are you talking about? Some are real fast, and some are pretty slow. Do better with your question, and you will get a better answer. Good Luck!!!

I see what you are talking about. I see this Subaru that runs at the drag strip where I go, and it eats them mustangs. I think that is just too funny!!! We run the 1/8 mile and I have a drag car (80 Malibu) that runs in the high 6's and I drive it on the street. I could give it some juice and get into the 5's. I see the Subaru's run all the time, and people are now starting to take notice that they have become a serious competitor. For a factory street machine they are a bad @ss!!!

A new mustang is vague at best, but I'll play along, assuming you mean a Mustang GT the mustang makes 300 horsepower traveling through a five speed manual, the Forester makes just over 200 traveling through a five speed manual. The Forester is all wheel drive and the mustang is just rear, assuming drivers of identical talent, the mustang weighs less, makes more power, and loses less to the drive train, it wins every time.

The Mustang Obviously, Its Got A Big Powerful Engine, and has a rear wheel drive too.
although the Forester has a 4 wheel drive system, it has a huge and heavy body, as compared to the Mustang, so in a drag race you need a lighter body to get the initial pick up, which the Mustang can give.
