I'm very close with my parents. They are the only ones who have consistantly been there with me my entire life through my struggles and hardships along with a lot of crap I went through as a child.

Can I open up with them? About some things. There are certain things that have happened that they still don't know about but I can talk to them about small stuff and my relationships.

My mother is a very complicated person... She loves me to death but she has anger issues (short fuse) I am the youngest (just me and my big sis) my mom says I have my fathers personality; they are divorced.
She says i can talk to her about anything, but to her talking is a one way street, she is a horrible listener, and she assumes far too quickly. That ofcourse meaning that are relationship is great from a 10 ft distance.
As for my father, Im a daddy's little girl but only because he hasnt been around long enough to fight with me. I love him to death too.
I have a step father and mother, My step dad and I get along, but like every one he has his faults (believes he is ALWAYS right, believes he rules over the house that was once my fathers) we all have issues and its totally fine! as long as we all have our space we will survive. Now for my step mother, I have not tryed to connect with her, she was my father's girlfriend when he was married to my mother. :0) the good thing about my broken family and my relationship with them is the following:
They ARE family and they are REAL... No Disney fairytale... No peice of cake...We all have issues but we accept each other the way we are... So to give my pointless answer a meaning I will say this, Any relationship that exists will always need work, If your relationship with your family or if your family isnt the best please dont feel down or discouraged work on it, try to be the bigger person and get the family together often, communication is key and for a fact no person will connect with some one they dont communicate, the relationship will harden and will get worse.
ALWAYS be grateful for the people that care for you even if you dont get along all the time or if they arent the perfect "TV Family"
Family will always be family One Day you will have the chance to make your family (if you dont already) and that will be your chance to start from scratch "Life is a lessoned learned"
Conclusion: Not very close at times, but as we get older we learn to manage each other better, I truly believe one day i will have an almost perfect family.

We are very close; but after 30 years, and becoming a parent myself, certain things have changed. I can understand their reasons for doing and saying the things they did to protect me when I was young. So we're even closer now and I have more of an appreciation of them now.
If I need them, they will always be there to listen or help.

Yes, they are very close to all of us and yes, we enjoy a good working relationship where we communicate very well. Makes for a happy family. Sometimes we don't see eye to eye, but that makes for some interesteing dialogue around the dinner table or afterwards over coffee or a beer!

I'm very close with my mom especially now that we are both getting up there. It's really wonderful now because we can talk about everything and I do mean everything. Love her dearly. You'll find that your relationship with your parents usually gets much closer with age.

I always was very close to both my mother and father, we talked about everything. Since they have left me to walk in the spirit world we don't speak much. I miss them both terribly and find myself wondering what they would have to say about my life today. I also miss just talking to them they always made me feel better.

I am close to both parents. I'm not as close with my dad, as I am with my mom though... my mom and I are really close.

nope im not close at all. i have to lie to them because they are so overprotective and worried about how others perceive us and the family. its a real shame. i dont even tell my mom if im dating or not and what i do at college. arent moms and daughters supposed to be close. worse tho is i havent spoken to my dad in months. and they live like 45 min away.
