just as a side note to the answer above, there are NO SUCH things as 8mm to vhs cassette adapters, the plain simple fact is the tape is not as wide as a vhs and it would not play in a standard VCR. you have to use audio/video patch cables to play/duplicate this format.

If you had a camcorder that used VHS-C, then an adapter is available for you to play in your VCR. You are going to have to get some cables to connect your camcorder to your VCR inputs and transfer them to VHS. There are no stand alone adapters for 8mm tapes that I know of.
