Why is it always the woman that has to wear something sexy and dress up? What about the man?

It originates with objectification. Men were respected for their skills and abilities; women for how they look. So fashion evolved along those lines, to the point where male clothes tend to emphasis Competence moreso than Sexiness.

Personally though, inasmuch as I feel a bit belittled by the expectation, I think it's their loss.

We always busy of our works and don't care too much with our performance. As well as we can work and earn money, why should we care about our performance.

But, we always try to have best performance (polite but not sexy, even we don't know how to make us sexy) in special condition, such as when we go with our girlfriends.

Even though we do like that, we always interest with sexy and attractive girls, and that's normal for us.

I think a man should dress up, too! A crisp shirt, pressed slacks, shiny shoes, pretty tie that matches, tha's perfect. Or any other type of dress-up mode, as long as it shows he put some time and effort into achieving the look.
