Zena,
You are in my prayers.
I'm sorry, but I don't know what else to say, Sweetie.

Well first of all. If you have the will, you'll find the way. Have faith, and be strong. If you set
your mind to it, you can do what it takes. You need to start with getting some assistance Thur the state. They have programs to help with the kids care while you work. Just be careful and check the places out. Then they also have programs to help you train and find work. Then get to checking on legal aid to make his butt pay you for all those kids support. It might take you some time but you can do it. I didn't have six, but had three. I left my alcoholic, cheating husband and should of done it sooner. It was hard, so don't think it won't be. But I was determined to support my kids. I worked two jobs for a while to get started. So good luck, and don't waste time. Get started looking for organizations to help you get on your feet.

My best friend was a single mom of four! She started working for a house cleaning company and only worked for them for approximately 3 months. Then she started her own company and is making over $20 an hour. She doesn't have insurance (the only downfall), so she had to sign them up for government insurance with that. She is a very honest, hard working person but her and her kids have a house and food to eat everyday.

Child support, welfare, go back to school to get GED, and go to college for the job that is going to help you support your children and build your spirit. Family services should be able to provide you with information to get grants from the government to pursue a college degree. You can do it, so go for it.
Most importantly, make sure you have god on your side. Go to church .
Trust in the Lord, and do good. So you will live in the land and will be fed...... Psalm 37:3

Call your state Department of Labor, and ask about their Displaced Homemakers Program.
They provide education, job training, subsidized child care, health benefits and unemployment insurance payments to women who have to enter the labor force after years of working in the home taking care of their family.
They will help you get training, and get a job that will provide you with the income necessary to support yourself and your 6 kids.
Also, do you have a court order mandating that your ex husband pay child support?
If you don't, go down to your local Family Court, and file a motion for child support.
If you do, contact your local Administration for Childrens Services, and ask them to help you collect support from your ex husband.
They can garneshee his pay, bank accounts, tax refunds and other sources of on the books income. They can also put a lein on his house, car, boat or any other real property. They can also prevent him from renewing his drivers license, or any other type of government license that he might have.
There's help out there - and you're entitled to it - you just have to ask for it.
Good luck!

Ok you are a school drop out. That doesnt stop you from earning. You have reared 6 children. Dont you think you can handle baby care successfully? If you believe you are good for nothing than seek government help. Once you are on your feet leave your husband. No body can handle alcohalics.
