It is not your imagination.
There are more women in Singapore than men. 1.8208m as of end of June '06 compared to 1.7876m men.
If you're talking about people younger than 25, there are more men than women - primarily due to cultural preferences for boys over girls.
However, the demographics change over 25 years old as a higher percentage of men work overseas. The difference become pronounced amongst the elderly as women outlive men.

I agree with you. Evey time I take the MRT you can surounded by women that keep chatting. That go for the bus too.
Where all the men gone? In the army?
