Well, now that the Democrats are doing fairly well, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the machines anymore. What a coincidence!! Just wait though, if they lose, they will have to blame it on something or somebody else though. Its how they roll.

This is not a partisan issue & the sectarian sniping shows that the seriousness of the situation is not understood.

The machines are easily manipulated and hacked, if they work at all. The code is poorly & amateurishly written & full of weak spots. The platform is Windows - easily attacked by virus & full of holes. The transfer of votes at the end of the day is easily changed, as the vote counting itself, with no way to trace the change. The machines did not come with printers & there is no way to tell if there was a security breach or not because there is no internal backup record, nor a hardcopy. The machines which have printers jam easily & often. There are no requirements for testing the machines, and the code has not been willingly made available for the government to regulate, unlike, for instance, slot machines, which are heavily regulated, to the benefit of all parties. Many polling places have stayed open hours overtime under emergency measures in those states so that thousands of voters are not turned away from their polling places like they were in 2004; those voters are using paper ballots where the machines have failed to operate at all.

The US electoral system had its problems before but the computerized machines have turned the elections in the US into a nearly farcical exercise, when 2/3 of the voters express some doubt that their vote will be counted that's not good enough to base the legitemacy of a government.

There went that conspiracy theory! They just used that so they could challenge if they lost!
