Per the website fo the California Department of Motor Vehicles:

"Do not block or hinder a funeral procession. Vehicles taking part in a funeral procession have the right of way and if you interfere, obstruct, or interrupt the funeral procession, you are subject to a citation. (VC §2817) The funeral procession is led by a traffic officer and all vehicles taking part in the procession have windshield markers to identify them."

The laws of your state may be different.

Hi teresa s,

I was raised it's common courtsey to pull over when a funeral is in procession, at the same time I have seen others pass between a procession. Now I pull over out of respect for others as along as I am not snarling traffic.
Have a good day!

Its against the law in California:www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/pgs31thru32.htm I think its against the law in most states, but you would need to check with your state's Department of Motor Vehicles.

if you dont stop im sure one of those bike cops in front would love to write you a fat ticket. They have their lites on, anytime they do or a fire truck ambulance...you pull over and let them go. if you dont and a nearby cop sees, your toast.
