I've read about things like excess bleeding, damaging bowels, damaging bladder, damaging stomach, reaction to the clips they use, tubal pregnancy, anxiety depression, higher risk of a hysterectomy, higher risk of cervical cancer, early menapause, and on and on, so many I can't remember all of them, and even death. Anyone out there had the procedure done? How has it worked for you?

Number one I am a surgical tech and they don't use clips they use free-ties. I also had my tubes tied after my last baby and I have not experienced any of that. I have excess bleeding but I have always been like that. There is not way your bowels, bladder, or stomach can become damaged because when they tie your tubes they place the uterus on the upper abdomen after the baby is delivered and tie the tubes then they put the uterus back inside of you. Whoever is telling you this is full of it. I'm a surgical tech and have seen the procedure done many times. You are being misinformed. If you do not have a c-section it is very easy. They go in and do it laprascopically and is very easy. The gas they use is carbon dioxide and it used to inflate the peritoneal cavity so the doctor has room to work. They don't do anything to your esophagus and you won't die from aspiration. They have to do this so the doctor can get all the instruments in the abdomen and have room to work. The procedure is very simple, I have seen it done many times.

I cant tell you not to have your tubes tied but I can tell you from exspeirence that every woman Ive ever met that has had this procedure done regrets it latter on in life.
You are already well informed on the side affects imagine having to take medications for the above side efects that also have more side efects.
I had my tubes tied when I was married now that it didnt work out I wish I had never done it. I wish I were given the 7 year shot or something because I love children and being a mom and mine are teenagers and I am finding that either men do not want a woman because she cant have kids or they use her for one thing.
Ive seen alot of women go though many things this one lady had a tubal and she was bledding so bad she had to go to the hospital and had more problems then that !!!!
I myself have lived with the stomach pains and even the anxiety and then the depression of not feeling like a complete woman because I dont have the option to make now to have another child or anyother thing to consider is the reversal if you do by time you do want kids again the cost will have triple in howmuch it cost to have the procedure reversed.
Another lady I know she had it done and didnt realize she had been going though menapuse at the age of 30 and left her boyfriend thier home everything they had went to college to save for was gone in less then 3 yrs.
A big factor noone really talks about is the sex life and after a baby no woman generally is medicly suppose to have intercouse for at least 6-8 weeks after having a baby imagine not even having the desire for it but maybe once or twice a month if that.
I talk to alot of people and I have known alot of good friends that have had this done and to be honest Ive never seen a positive side to this.
Generally a man is the one that suggest it not a woman.
I would get another method of birth control and if you still want it after you youve graduated college 3 kids and married at least 8-10 years then deside but If I had to do all over I wouldnt have listen to my husband or the dr he picked out for me.
Talk to alot of womaen that have had this done some days they are glad they had it done but mostly that is said in a moment of anger.
The truth is very hard sometimes but I wish someone would have given me all the facts and not just rushing me through it.
Ithink it should be against the law to even have this procedure because it really does mess with women and the man too when the man cant handle what shes going through and takes off with another.

I had mine "tied" or I guess what the doc called "burned" and I never had any bad symptoms aside from being just a little bit sore the next day. No bleeding and went right back to work the following morning. Just be absolutely sure that you don't want any more kidlets. I am not a kid person and knew for a very long time that I did not want to have any. My insurance even covered most of it!

Good luck with your decision!

I had a tubal with no problems, at all. It actually helped me several years later when I began having problems. My doctor had seen some evidence of endometriosis during the tubal so he could treat me better when it became worse. I didn't have to have a lot of tests later. So although I had a hysterectomy, it was unrelated to the tubal.

I had mine done the day after my last child was born. My doc cut, tied and burned my tubes so make absolutely sure you're done having children if you choose to do this. I would recommend waiting six weeks after your baby is born before having your tubes tied. If you have it done right after delivery they have to flatten your esophagus at the exact time they put you under to keep the natural reaction of your organs from coming up and causing you to asperate. That's scary and painful and yes you will know when it's done. If I had known they would do that I would have waited the six weeks to have mine done.

I would not assume your durations to be consistent ever once more. My neice had her tubes tide six years in the past and hasn't had her interval within the identical period of time each and every month seeing that. Also, essentially the most typical method nowadays is to honestly reduce out a little of the fallopian tube and cauterize the ends . . . incredibly tough to get prego after that.

Had mine done an hour after my fourth child was born at 24 years old. I myself have not had any complications. I know for me it was a good experience. I know that family history contributes to other diseases and may not have anything to do with the procedure. Make sure you talk to your dr. about your concerns and hopefully have statistics to prove the developing of other problems.

i had it done but i got pregnant anyway and had the abortion, another tubal cervical cancer, and a hysterectomy. which ofcourse gave me menopause, however i dont think any of it was really related to the tubal, i sure wasnt depressed while i wasnt getting pregnant, but i almost killed myself when i got pregnant anyway after 2 yrs.

my mother had it after having my younger brother . which was around 8 years ago, and she never complains of anything that youv'e mentioned. she was also afraid of getting her tubes tied, everyone at her work told her everything bad that could ever happen if she did it. but she went ahead and did it anyway, she claims to be very happy, she says that she doesn't have to worry about any more pregnancies.
