If you are asking when it begins to show life functions, that would be the second the egg is fertilized because that is when it begins constructing itself. If you are asking when it becomes conscious, then there is not a definitive answer. If you are asking when it's "soul" enters it, then please realize that this is a metaphysics question and would be better asked in the Religion section of this website.

Thats a pretty big question that not even ethicists can decide. Best idea is for you to gather some information and decide for yourself. But I agree with one thing, there is no such thing as an "unborn baby". Its called a fetus until its born.
Here's some info to help you:
-Heart forms at 6 weeks after conception.
-Called a fetus at 8 weeks (it was an embryo before)
-All major organs except lungs have formed by 10 weeks
-Starts making blood in its bone marrow at 12 weeks
-Arms and legs are formed by 16 weeks
-All body parts and facial features are formed by 18 weeks
-Lungs begin early respiratory movements at 20 weeks (1/2 way mark as well)
-Fetus can survive outside the womb if lungs are developed enough at 28 weeks. Also, brain-wave patterns match a newborn's brain-wave patterns around this time.
-After 32 weeks, the fetus is in a growth phase until birth
-Birth around 40 weeks

This is a hot question that will be augured by many. All anyone can do is state their opinion. My opinion is that life begins at conception but it is not a life as being born but it is still life. If you have a fish that has laided it eggs and the eggs have been fertilized and then you destroy the eggs you have killed the fish that would of hatch from the eggs. The eggs them self was useless, but if they had been allow to developed they would of produced fish. If the eggs had not of been fertilized they would of just remained eggs. It is the act of fertilization that starts the life cycle. The same in humans if the egg passes without fertilization then it is just a egg but once the egg is fertilized then the cycle of life begins.

There is no such thing as an "unborn baby"; the two terms are mutually exclusive.
Life begins at the moment of birth, not a single minute sooner.

Life begins at the very start, conception. The embryo is alive though society has declared that a child is not alive until a certain term of the pregnancy....biologically the life begins immediately.
