are they trying to destroy the countries economy? upping minimum wage means inflation to the max. im sorry the poorer working class cant afford to live on $6.15 per hour, but upping it for them will cause prices to rise anyways, so it wont even make any difference...we'll fall faster and faster into depression and our enemies will become stronger and stronger.

Unfortunately, many people do not understand economics whatsoever.

People who support a minimum wage should have a maximum-earnings cap placed upon them. The earnings could be used as capital so minimum wage earners could get more schooling and develop their own businesses. Pelosi & Kerry & Kennedy are rich enough.

The minimum wage schtick is just a ploy to get votes from the uneducated. It results in inflation and more jobs going overseas.
If it hasn't worked it over the past 40 years, it won't solve the problem now.

Wanting to raise the minimum wage is something that can't be done in a capitalist society. Some of the above arguers said that it needs to be raised so these people can make a living. but how do you expect people with no education and no skills to make a living? this is what welfare is for lol.

Well you didn't think that way when you were running up 4 TRILLION in deficits and giving tax cuts to the rich! What is wrong with raising someones wage enough so they can eat!

It is time employers get off the backs of those who earn all their money in the first place, because they sure don't!

Good grief! Did all this horror stuff happen the last time it was raised? (How many decades ago...) IF this caused prices to rise, those of us who make far more could afford the itty bit. As for inflation, depression & accelerating strength of enemies, don't you think you've gone over the top in paranoia? I mean, HONESTLY?

...like less than 5 percent of the workforce makes minimum wage... if you think a relatively slight increase in the wages of less than 5 percent of the population will ruin America... then I have some ocean front property in Arizona I would like to sell you...

America is about 100,000,000,000 times stronger than you even start to give it credit for...

What rock have you been under, corporate profits have went up and perks for CEO's are just nuts. They can afford to spend more on labor without raising prices. Then again that will be the excuses that will be used to stick it to the rest of us.

Dear stupid retard,

The richest 1% of the US have about 1/3rd of the money. The next 10% have another 1/3 of the money. You've got to be a kid living in suburbia, where dad bought you a car. Let's see you make it on $6.15/hr. You couldn't even do it if you had 2 jobs. And you'd kill yourself in the process. Life isn't all about killing yourself to make other people rich.

But if the wages stay low, then how are people supposed to live? With prices rising regardless of wages, something has to be done in order to offer people a chance to survive.

I think what people don't realize is that employers will cut back on staff and a lot of jobs will go out of the country.
