Food includes, rice, wheat, oils, any readymade eating dishes, vegetables, chicken, eggs, meat, etc. The amound of food for a person depends on what he prefers. Also the amound depends on where he is purchasing all those. Because, the prices vary drastically, if you purchase for a village and a metropolitan. Also, if you are buying food from a 5 star hotel it is completely different. 50 dollars equals to Rs.2600. However we can assume somethings here. One: you purchase from metropolitan, a superbazaar, basmati rice (good quality rice), some assorted vegetables, chicken once in two days, sunflower oil, etc. Two: you do not go to any hotel and cook youself. Then one person can eat on US$50 for not less than 3 months. And if the number of people increase, fixed costs like carrying costs, cooking fuel cost and other overheads will be shared. So both can live for atleast 2 months (effectively for one person, 4 months)
